David and Jackie Hall Scholarship

Influenced by his father’s positive attitude and his own determination, Dr. Hall served in the military for 30 years – rising to the rank of Brigadier General in the U.S. Air Force, and working as a civilian in industry and education – and has also worked for General Motors Corporation as an executive for ten years, during which time he was transferred to Saginaw where he has remained since. In 1993, Dr. Hall left the corporate life to teach for Northwood University, and he was later selected to be Executive in Residence for the business school at Saginaw Valley State University. He has received numerous awards, including a Meritorious Service Medal from the U.S. Air Force and the Robert H. Albert Lifetime Community Service Award from the Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Kappa Alpha Phi fraternity, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the U.S. Air Force Historical Society. He has volunteered for St. Mary’s of Michigan, the Boy Scouts of America, the READ Association of Saginaw County, the Castle Museum, the Health Source of Saginaw, Bethel AME Church and the American Legion. He has also served on the Saginaw Valley State University Board of Fellows and the Delta College Foundation Board of Directors. His hobbies include woodworking and reading.
